Delegation of permanent representatives to United Nations from eleven countries visits Election Commission

A delegation of permanent representatives to the United Nations from eleven countries visited the Election Commission today. These countries are Cabo Verde, St. Vincent and Grenada, Togo, Moldova, Gambia, Burkina Faso, Tonga, Samoa, Micronesia, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. <br/><br/>In his address, the Chief Election Commissioner mentioned that strong participatory and inclusive democracies are necessary to ensure good governance and empowerment of all its citizens. He gave an overview of the election process in India and briefed the visiting delegates about the innovations and initiatives introduced by the EC in managing the elections. <br/>The delegation is on a visit to India from the 4th to the 10th of this month under the sponsorship of External Affairs Ministry.
