Delegation of five MLAs from Assam visit Indian High Commission in Dhaka

<span style="color: #222222;">A delegation of five MLAs from Assam led by the Minister of State, Independent Charge, Urban Development, Health & Family welfare, Govt of Assam Pijush Hazarika visited the Indian High Commission in Dhaka today. Sh. Maninder Singh, Addl. Chief Secretary, Govt. of Assam also accompanied the Minister. The delegation has arrived yesterday from Guwahati by the maiden Spicejet flight under Udan scheme. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' The delegation was welcomed in the High Commission by the Acting High Commissioner Bishwadip Dey.  The members of delegation had a fruitful discussion with the officials of the High Commission on how to promote people to people relations between India and Bangladesh. The meeting also discussed the issue of promoting tourism, including medical tourism from Bangladesh to Assam. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Briefing the visiting dignitary, acting High Commissioner informed that the number of visas being issued for India in Bangladesh has gone up to 14.8 lakh last year. He said there is a tremendous scope for upscaling the people to people ties between India and Bangladesh as the two countries enjoy historic friendship and goodwill.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Talking exclusively with Prasar Bharti correspondent Rajesh Jha in Dhaka, Minister Shri Pijush Hazarika exhorted people of Bangladesh to visit Assam and explore its tourist places and benefit from its advanced medical facilities. The delegation later visited the Visa Application Centre in Dhaka.</span><br />
