A delegation of BJP and Akali Dal leaders today met the President Mr. Pratibha Devisingh Patil and submitted a memorandum following threats to Sikhs in Kashmir valley. Talking to reporters after the meeting Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal of Akali Dal said that they urged for a response to the situation with a pro active role by the Centre to help the state in this matter. They also called for instill confidence among the minority community members in the valley with adequate security measures. Condemning the activities of those who have send these threat letters, the delegation said that the objective of these terror elements is to rupture the socio religious fabrics of the state. Prominent among those who were in the delegation include Navjot Singh Sidhu and Naresh Gujral of Akali Dal.
