A joint delegation of ten political parties from Manipur, has met Chief Election Commissioner S Y Quraishi in New Delhi on the alleged irregularities in the recently held Manipur Assembly elections. These parties include CPI, CPI (M) BJP, NCP, Naga people’s Front and Manipur Peoples Party. Speaking to reporters, the Chairman of the delegation, Radha Binod Koijam said that the delegation has appealed to the Commission to reject the surreptitiously issued postal ballot papers in the poll. He said, they have also urged the Commission to declare the bogus votes as invalid.
