<span style="color: #222222;">A delegation led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today and held discussion on a total of 12 issues pertaining to the state and submitted a detailed letter of demand to him. Thackeray was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister and senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar and senior Congress leader Ashok Chavan. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Correspondent reports, addressing the media at Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi after the meeting, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said various pending issues of Maharashtra at the Centre were discussed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi which included Maratha reservation, political reservation for other backward classes in Panchayat Raj elections, reservation of backward classes in the promotion, proposed Metro car shed in Kanjurmarg, release of GST compensation dues of Rs. 24,306 crore, caste-based census and classical language status for Marathi. Thackeray said they requested the Prime Minister to take steps to lift the 50 per cent ceiling on reservation to ensure Marathas and OBCs continue to get benefits. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The delegation informed that the state government is also going to file a comprehensive reconsideration petition regarding Maratha reservation in the Supreme Court. Besides this, issues such as a new Beed model for the effective implementation of crop insurance scheme, need to change the NDRF norms for relief provided to people affected by natural calamity, expediting permission processes for bulk Drug Park planned in Raigad district, pending funds for civic bodies from the 14th Finance Commission and appointment of 12 MLCs in State Council from Governor's quota were also discussed during the meeting. The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the meeting and said that the Prime Minister has assured to look into these issues.</span><br />'' <br />''
