A delegation of 30 Muktijodhas led by Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan left Dhaka for Kolkata today on the invitation of the Government of India to participate in the Vijay Diwas celebrations. <br/><br/>The delegation will join the Vijay Diwas functions on December 16 at Fort Williams where they will have an opportunity to interact with Indian Veterans of the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. <br/><br/>Similarly 18 Indian War Veterans arrived in Dhaka today on a 5-day visit on the invitation of the Bangladesh government to participate in the Victory Day celebrations where they will also have an opportunity to interact with the Muktijodhas. <br/><br/>The Indian delegation is led by Lt. Gen. G.S. Sihota (Retd.) who was awarded the galantry award Vir Chakra for his bravery during the Liberation War. <br/><br/>The reciprocal visits by Muktijodhas and Indian War Veterans to participate in Victory Day celebrations started in 2005.<br/><br/>More than 208 Muktijodhas from Bangladesh and 125 War Veterans from India have since joined the Vijay Diwas celebrations in Kolkata and Dhaka respectively.
