Delay in judgments could be eradicated through will, commitment: Hamid Ansari

Vice-President Mhd.Hamid Ansari has said that all causes of delayed judgments could be eradicated through the will and commitment of judiciary including judges and advocates. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasions of 150 years celebration of Allahabad high court at its Lucknow bench today, Mr Ansari said long judgments, frequent adjournments and lengthy oral arguments have been identified as main reasons for delay by one of chief justice of India. <br/><br/>He underlined that all these reasons are "remediable and can be remedied given the will and commitment on the part of judiciary and the fraternity of lawyers." The vice-president pointed out that US supreme court allows only thirty minutes for oral arguments for each side. <br/><br/>Mr. Ansari also emphasized that judges should always maintain their neutrality. On this occasion state governor Ram Naik and chief Justice of Allahabad High court Justice D.Y Chandrachud were also present .
