Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala says the delay in concluding the peace process and constitution drafting is a matter of concern for the neighbouring countries which have open borders. Speaking at a seminar in the capital Kathmandu on Wednesday Mr. Koirala said the UPCN (maoist) as the largest party in the Constituent Assembly has the responsibility to complete the long delayed peace process. He urged Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prachananda to take the historic step and fulfill the aspirations of the people. Mr. Dahal said that he will carry out the responsibility as Chairman of the largest party to see that the peace process is completed. However he said all other parties should also take the responsibility. CPN-UML leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said the the peace process will not come to its logical end unless the maoists are serious . Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party Chairman Mahanta Thakur stressed on the need for concluding the peace process and constitution drafting process by incorporating the Madhes-based parties.AIR correspondent reports, the long delay in the completing the peace process and with the extended Constituent Assembly term coming to an end on 31,of this month has again brought the present stalemate in Nepali politics into focus. Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal -Prachananda seems to be under attack from all fronts from within his own party and outside. Earlier in the day in a meeting with the President the Nepali Congress said that ball lies in the court of the maoist. Later in the seminar, Mr Dahal was again the focus as leaders from the different parties saying that the Maoist has to take steps to conclude the long delayed peace process.
