Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who is in Andaman and Nicobar for two days to celebrate Diwali with the soldiers, will visit Car Nicobar today. <br/><br/>After arriving at Port Blair yesterday the defence minister visited the Headquarters of Andaman and Nicobar Command and was given a comprehensive brief on the security environment and thrust areas of the Command.<br/><br/>Ms Sitharaman also met Lieutenant Governor Admiral D K Joshi at Raj Niwas and discussed issues relating to the safety and security of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.<br/><br/>In the evening, she visited the Veer Savarkar cell in the National Memorial Cellular Jail and laid wreath at the Swatantra Jyoti. She also visited Ross Island.
