Defending champs Bengal clash with Manipur in Santosh trophy final

Defending champions Bengal take on Manipur on Monday in the final of the Santosh Trophy, 65th National Football Championship at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Guwahati. In the semi-finals, Manipur beat Services with Thoiba Singh netting the winner while Bengal rode on Budhiram Tudu's strike against Railways to make it to the final. ALL INDIA RADIO LIVE broadcast of the Santosh trophy final can be heard today, on all multi channels and FM Gold as well, from 1725 hrs onwards. It will be a contest between experience and exuberance. Bengal have won the championship a record 30 times however in this edition Manipur held Bengal to a 2-2 draw in a quarterfinal. Manipur adorns a young side with the average age of the players being 23. Manipur had won the Santosh Trophy in 2002 defeating Bengal.
