Defence Secretary Pradeep Kumar is reported to have been chosen as next Chief Vigilance Commissioner. PTI quoting sources says Pradeep Kumar, who retires as Defence Secretary on July 31, was chosen by consensus by a panel comprising Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, HomeMinister P Chidambaram and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj. But his selection has been not been officially confirmed yet. Kumar, a Haryana cadre IAS officer of the 1972 batch, was Secretary, Defence Production, before becoming the Defence Secretary.
