The Ministry of Defence has decided to induct NCC cadets selected in the Republic day camp as officers in the armed forces after taking their interviews by service selection board. This was disclosed by Chandigarh NCC zone additional Director General , Major General Mohabat Singh while talking to media persons at Kapurthala. Major General Singh said, Indian air force had taken the first step in this direction and selected some of NCC cadets last month. He disclosed that Indian army and Indian navy are also going to follow these guidelines soon in order to raise the strength of the officers in the armed forces.
