The Defence Ministry has signed a contract of over 900 crore rupees for the Normal Refit of Sindhukirti Submarine at Hindustan Shipyard Limited, Visakhapatnam to achieve Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Sindhukirti is Diesel Electric Submarine. The Ministry said, after completion of the refit, Sindhukirti will be combat-worthy and will join the active submarine fleet of the Indian Navy.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">This refit has been offloaded to develop an alternate repair facility for submarines and is a further step towards undertaking Medium refit with Life Certification at Hindustan Shipyard Limited.
