Defence Ministry has decided to remove the condition of remarriage with the late husband's brother for continuation of monetary allowance of the widow's of Gallantry Awards recipients. <br/><br/>The Ministry in a statement today said, the allowance will be admissible to the recipient of the award and on his death to his widow lawfully married. The widow will continue to receive the allowance until her death. <br/><br/>The Ministry took this decision after receiving representations were received from various quarters to remove the condition of the widow's remarriage with the late husband's brother for continuation of the monetary allowance.
