Defence Ministry orders inquiry

The Defence Ministry has ordered an inquiry into the alleged benefits extended to a privet defence equipment manufacturing company.

Talking to AIR, the Defence Spokesperson Sintanshu Kar said that the enquiry has been ordered by the Defence Minister Mr. A. K. antony on Thursday morning. He said that the chief of Army Staff General V. K. Singh will inquire into the matter and submit report to the Defence Minister on top priority.

It was alleged in a media report that the imagery interpretation capability critical to providing information on locations of enemy troops was compromise by flawed contract given to a private Indian company.
