Defence Acquisition Council, DAC, has cleared the purchase of an estimated 40,000 crore rupees Russian S-400 air defence missile systems. It also gave the go-ahead to other projects worth over 25,000 crore Rupees. <br/><br/>Defence Acquisition Council, chaired by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has decided to buy 5 units of the S-400 Triumf air defence missile systems. r Kumar added that ISRO is planning to launch next generation launch vehicle GSLV Mk-III with indigenous cryogenic upper stage technology by December 2016.
