Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman has said that deepening defence ties between India and Singapore and their commitment to further initiatives will promote stability in ASEAN region. <br />''<br />''Speaking at the press meet on concluding day of 3rd India-Singapore Defence Minister dialogue in Visakhapatnam yesterday, Ms Sitaraman reaffirmed India's belief that disputes should be resolved through peaceful means and in accordance with the universally recognized international law.<br />'' <br />''The significance the meeting was the renewal of Bilateral Agreement for Conduct of Joint Army Training as well as exercises for Singapore Armed Forces in India. <br />'' <br />''Singapore Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen and Ms Sitaraman have agreed to step up intelligence and information sharing particularly in areas of maritime. They also commended the progress in defence technology collaboration between the two countries.<br />'' <br />''The 4th Defence Minister's dialogue will be held in Singapore next year.<br />''<br />
