Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that the character of warfare is changing and in this Information Age, the challenge is not just to prepare for contingencies but also to repel threats from multiple sources.<br />''<br />''Addressing the Ambassadors Round Table on Defence Expo-2020 in New Delhi today, Mr Singh said, the role of Artificial Intelligence, big data and block-chain technologies have already revolutionized the existing paradigm of warfighting. He said, the defence industry is undergoing a churning to cope and employ these technologies to ensure safety and security of critical infrastructure.<br />''<br />''The Defence Minister said, digitalization is the key to future security scenario based on the application of digital technologies in defence manufacturing as the spectrum of warfare is transiting from the traditional land, air and sea to cyber-space and the space. He said, India has also become a hub for repair, maintenance, overhaul and servicing industry for various platforms.<br />''<br />''Mr Singh said, Indian Defence Industry has matured and exploring mutually beneficial partnership with friendly foreign countries to set up industries in India and abroad. Urging the Defence Ministers of the countries represented at the Ambassadors Round Table to participate in the Defence Expo to be held in Lucknow from 5th to 8th February next year, the Defence Minister said, India has a robust Defence Industrial base.<br />''<br />''He said, India will showcase its plans for Defence Corridors in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu where investment commitments of about 1 billion dollars have already been made. AIR correspondent reports that more than 100 business events and seminars are being planned and over 1000 exhibitors are expected in Def-Expo. About 80 per cent of the space of the Def-Expo has already been booked by around 280 companies and exhibitors from 28 countries.<br />
