Defence Minister clears ambiguity on defence land issues in Bengaluru

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has cleared ambiguity over status of several civic amenities projects that needed defence land in Bengaluru.<br/><br/>After holding the meeting with the State Government and defence personnel in Bengaluru on Thursday, he assured that 34 acres of defence land will be provided for creating civic amenities in the city.<br/><br/>He also assured that a few Government schools functioning on defence property will not be evicted.<br/><br/>The State Government has assured the Defence Minister that 400 acres alternative land outside the city will be provided to the Ministry of Defence as compensation for the land it will lose for the purpose of creating necessary infrastructure in the city.<br/><br/>The Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation Sadananda Gowda informed this in a press conference in Bengaluru today.<br/><br/>The meeting was attended by State ministers, city Mayor and top officials from the state government.
