About 50 thousand residents of Goa and neighbouring districts today thronged the venue of the Defence Expo and marvelled at the live demonstrations and aerobatics of Light Combat Aircraft Sarang of the Indian Air Force and the maneuvers of Main battle tank Arjun Mark I and II. The largest response to the exhibition was received from the local population who visited in large family groups. <br/><br/>Enthusiasm was also evident among organized groups from schools and colleges and visiting youth who were curious and showing keen interest in defence technology.Today, on the last day of the four day Expo the event was open to public free of charge. With an underlined theme of 'Make in India', the Expo organised on the sprawling open space near Naqueri Quitol villages in South Goa proved to be the largest such exhibition ever held in the country. <br/><br/>The Expo organised for the first time outside New Delh received tremendous response from 47 countries manufacturing defence products including United States, Russia, Germany and Israel by opening about 500 pavilions in the Expo. More than an equal number of public Sector Defence companies also exhibited their technological and scientific achievements to the defence business world outside India at one place in this Expo. Companies announced signing of MOUs and JVs on each day of the event as delegations continued to be busy with B to B deliberations.
