The Defence ministry has ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the VVIP chopper deal after the arrest of the head of Italian firm Finmeccanica on charges of bribery. The CEO of an Italian firm accused of paying bribe to swing a deal for 12 VIP helicopters, was today arrested by the Italian police. Mr Guiseppe Orsi, was arrested as part of corruption investigation into the 2010 sale of AW101 helicopters for the Indian Air Force (IAF). The first two of these helicopters were delivered to the Palam Air Base in Delhi late last year, with the other 10 to follow in quick intervals. AIR correspondent reports, Finmeccanica issued a press statement stating that it was with the CEO on the issue.
