The West Bengal Government has suspended the District Forest Officer of Nadia and Murshidabad range Sourindra Nath Pal over the recent unnatural death of two deers at Bathua Duari sancturary in Nadia district. State Forest Minister Hiten Barman said that two other forest officials have been transferred in connection with the incident. Mr. Barman visited the sanctuary yesterday to take stock of the situation. AIR correspondent reports that the two deers died on last Wednesday allegedly following teasing by a group of tourists who came to the sanctuary on the day of Eid festival.
