Deep depression over west central Bay of Bengal moves southwestwards

The deep depression formed over west central Bay of Bengal moved southwestwards and weakened into a depression and lay centred today at 750 Km east-northeast of Chennai. Chennai Met Centre has said that the system would move towards North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coasts and then weaken in 24 hours. Fishermen along north coastal Tamil Nadu have been advised to be cautious while venturing into sea as strong winds with speed reaching 55 KM per hour is likely to hit.
Meanwhile, in Nagapattinam, Cutionary signal one has been hoisted. Fishermen in Nagapattinam and Thoothukudi districts did not venture into the sea because of rough conditions.
According to Bhubaneswar Meterological office, rain or thunder shower will occur at one or two places over Odisha during next 24 hours. Distant Cautionary Signal Number One has been kept hoisted at Paradip and Gopalpur ports of the state. Fishermen have been cautioned while venturing into the sea.
