The government proposes to set up a dedicated fund for promoting grass-roots innovations with social returns and modest economic returns. The Inclusive Innovation Fund would support enterprises developing innovative solutions primarily for citizens in the lower half of India's economic pyramid with limited physical and institutional access to basic services. This information was given in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today by the Minister of State for Finance Namo Narain Meena. He said the scheme is at the stage of consideration by the Expenditure Finance Committee.
