Congress today demanded that the flood situation in Chennai, Tamil Nadu be declared as a national disaster. Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, party spokesperson Rajeev Gowda said immediate and adequate compensation should be given to those affected. He said the party is with the people who have been affected by the torrential excess rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh.
