Decision to withdraw from BJP led NDA govt to be taken after discussion with PM: Uddhav

In a major flip flop today, Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray said that Sena’s only union cabinet minister Anant Geete will continue in the Modi government and any decision in this regard will be taken only after discussing it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

AIR correspondent reports, Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray today declared that if Sena decides to pull out from the NDA government, all the 42 MPs from Maharashtra will have to step down since all of them got elected as NDA candidates, bagging votes from both the Shiv Sena and BJP supporters.

Yesterday, Thackeray had announced that Union Heavy Industries Minister Anant Geete will resign from the union cabinet but even retracted from that statement today.

The Sena Chief had made this announcement after his estranged cousin and MNS Chief Raj Thackeray criticised the Sena for “sticking to” the ministerial berth and ruling the Mumbai civic body together despite its spilt with the BJP.

The chances of any single party getting a majority in the October 15 assembly elections are very meek. So, Thackeray’s today’s statement might be a sign of a confused Shiv Sena leader, who is still unsure about his alliance with the BJP or does Thackeray has some masterstroke in his mind, only time will tell.
