Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackerary has said that the decision to reopen places of religious worship in the state will be taken after careful consideration. He said this in response to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari's letter over the issue of reopening of religious places. In his letter, the chief minister said that his government's primary duty is the safety of people during the pandemic.<br />''<br />''Earlier, Mr Koshyari in a letter to the Chief Minister, sought re-opening of places of worship with COVID precautions. The Governor said, during last three months many delegations have met him on the issue demanding the re-opening of the places of worship, which included religious leaders, individuals NGOs and political leaders.  <br />''<br />''Mr Koshyari said that the Chief Minister has overlooked the fact that opening of religious places in Delhi and other states across the country had not led to any significant rise in COVID-19 infections.<br />''<span style="color: #222222;"><br />''Meanwhile the Bhartiya Janta Party is holding protests across the state today, demanding reopening of all places of worship with standard operating procedure. Protests were held outside the famous Shirdi Sai Baba Temple and Mumbai's Siddhivinayak Temple. </span><br />
