Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar today said that the decision to leapfrog from Bharat State (BS)-IV directly to Bharat Stage-VI, is the most revolutionary decision taken by the Modi Government. Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, he said this BS-VI compliance will reduce the pollution level in the country by almost 90 per cent.<br/><br/>Javadekar further said, the earlier Congress Government had planned to upgrade emission level from BS-IV to BS-V by year 2020 and then to BS-VI by 2024. But, the Centre government's decision to make the country BS-VI by year 2020 itself is creditable.
