The Centre on Tuesday said that all efforts would be made to take a decision on the long pending issue of transfer of land for construction of a memorial for Babasaheb Ambedkar in Mumbai before Thursday, the death anniversary of Ambedkar.

Speaking to reporters after meeting a delegation comprising Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and MPs from the state in New Delhi, he has been discussing the matter with Prime Minister and will definitely take an appropriate view on it.

AIR correspondent reports the MPs are demanding construction of the memorial at Indu Mill land in Mumbai belonging to National Textiles Corporation, which falls under the Textiles Ministry.
