A decision by the Congress party on Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan's proposed resignation in the wake of an embarrassing Adarsh housing scam is expected to take some more time. Senior Congress leader Mr. Pranab Mukherjee told this to reporters in New Delhi today following a meeting with Congress President Sonia Gandhi. He is heading the two-member committee including Defence Minister A.K. Antony on the issue. On his return from Kolkata, Mr. Mukherjee had a meeting with Mr. Antony last night and had said that he would require some more time to go through the documents related to the alleged scam. The Maharashtra PCC Chief Manik Rao Thakre said that the decision of the panel will have to be honoured.
