Decision on anti-terror centre this month: Govt

The Government today said that a final decision on setting up the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) will be taken before the end of this month. Home Minister P. Chidambaram told the Lok Sabha during the Question Hour that the proposal to set up NCTC should get the Cabinet approval.

Replying to a supplementary, the Home Minister said there was adequate strategic coordination among various counter intelligence and counter terrorist agencies in the country. For another supplementary, Mr Chidambaram said interception authority given to the Research and Analysis Wing was strictly within its mandate.
