Decision about exam pattern should not be taken in haste: PM

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that no decision should be taken in haste on the examination pattern as a debate is continuing on the issue. <br/> <br/>Human Resource Development Ministry had in September announced abolition of compulsory CBSE Board exams for class X from next academic year and introduction of grading system from current year. <br/> <br/>Dr. Singh along with his wife Gursharan Kaur was interacting with a group a children on the Children's Day on Saturday.<br/> <br/>In a reference to rising prices, the Prime Minister said the government is making all efforts to keep them under check. He expressed hope that the price regime will be better in a year's time. He said, the government has substantially increased the Minimum Support Price for wheat, rice and other items to help the farmers. <br/> <br/>Dr. Manmohan Singh dismissed reports that he is a weak Prime Minister and said that such allegations do not distract his attention from his mission. Asked as to why education is getting costlier by the day, Dr. Singh said this is so only in private schools. In government schools, every effort is being made to ensure that education did not become a privilege for only the rich. <br/> <br/>About the violence in the North East, Dr. Singh said he is aware that the situation particularly in Assam and Manipur is not okay. On why Indians win Nobel prize only after they leave the country, the Prime Minister said that in our country there is little scope for the people to think out of box. <br/><br/>
