Union Minister State for Environment for Forest, Jairam Ramesh said a final decision on whether BT Brinjal would be allowed for commercial cultivation will be taken after examining all shades of opinion. Holding a public hearing at the Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture in Hyderabad on Sunday morning, the minister said he would consider all views from various quarters both in favour and against before taking a final decision.<br/> The public hearing was sixth of its kind in a series that is being held throughout the country. As part of gathering public opinon over BT Brinjal, refuting the allegations that he was acting in favour of MNCs, the minister made it clear that he would consider all opinion in this regard. Earlier, the public hearing was delayed for more than an hour due to protest demonstrations, gheraos and slogan shouting by the people who were supporting and opposing introduction of the BT Brinjal.
