Debate on in Bihar Assembly on confidence motion moved by CM

A debate is underway in the Bihar Assembly on the confidence motion moved by Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. Mr.Manjhi took over as the Chief Minister of the state on Tuesday following the resignation of Nitish Kumar. The Manjhi government is likely to sail through the confidence motion as RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has announced his party's support to the government. The RJD has 21 MLAs in the 243 member assembly. The ruling JDU has 117 legislators in the assembly whose effective stregth is 237. The government will require 119 MLAs to prove its majority in the assembly.
