Death toll rises to fifty in boat capsize incident in Balia

In Uttar Pradesh the death toll in boat capsize incident in Ballia district has raised to 50. It includes 12 girls, 8 boys and 15 each woman and man. <br/><br/>The Deputy Director General of Police Azamgarh range Mr. Prakash D told our Lucknow correspondent that search operation has begun from early this morning. It was suspended late last night due to lack of sufficient light and divers engaged in search operation were exhausted. <br/><br/>A flood company of PAC, Several boats and divers have been pressed into rescue operation, while the senior officers including district magistrate and divisional commissioner are camping at the incident site to supervise the relief and rescue operations. <br/><br/>The DIG is camping at district hospital for supervising medical relief to the injured admitted in the hospital and legal and administrative formalities of dead. Senior officials are also deputed at mortuary to complete the post-mortem of victims of the incident. <br/><br/>Large numbers of relatives of deceased are thronged at post mortem house. <br/>As per reports available nearly 100 people, who were slated to perform a religious ritual on the other side of river bank, siting on the boat when it overturned in mid-stream due to overloading on Monday morning. <br/><br/>Several persons swam to safety with the assistance of locals. Expressing her grief over the incident the chief Minister Mayawati announced it this evening at Lucknow. <br/><br/>She has also directed to continue rescue and relief operations in an effective manner. She has announced to provide financial help of one lakh rupees each to next keens of deceased died in the incident.
