The death toll in Maoists attack on Police camp in West Midnapur district of West Bengal has risen to 28. The dead includes 27 jawans of Eastern Frontier Riffle and one passerby. A number of security personnel belonging to the Eastern Frontier Rifles were also injured when Maoists attacked Shilda Camp under Binpur Police Station on Monday. According to the District Magistrate, N S Nigam, at least 50 Maoists with sophisticated arms and weapons attacked the security personnel at about 5.30 pm and also set on fire the camp and exploded two landmines there. AIR correspondent reports that they also looted all weapons from the camp.
