Death toll reaches to 47 in rain related incidents in UP

In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Secretary Anoop Mishra reviewed the flood situation visiting Jaunpur, Sonbhadra and Chandoli districts, the worst affected during current spell of heavy rain. The government has also sanctioned one crore 82 lakh rupees additional to flood affected eastern districts for relief and rescue works.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that death toll in rain related incidents during current spell of heavy rain have reached to 47. Nine more deaths are reported from Varanasi district during last 24 hours in house collapse incidents. The state government has announced an ex-gratia payment of one lakh rupees each to the families of the persons killed in eastern district during current spell of heavy raining. PAC and NDRF teams have been alerted and a PAC contingent has been send to Jaunpur and Mirzapur districts. Train services in Mughalsarai and Varanasi stations have also been affected due to the rains. several trains have been terminated on the way while several long rout trains are running late.
