In Pakistan, the death toll in the suicide attack in Yakkaghand area of Mohmand Agency rose to hundred with over 100 others injured, most of them are in critical condition. The Regional official said with the recovery of more bodies from under the debris today, the death toll pushed to over 100. The dead include women and children. It may be recalled that a suicide bomber riding a motorbike blew himself up on Friday as hundreds of people were gathered around the office of a senior government official in Pakistan's northwestern Mohmand region, where security forces have stepped up attacks on Taliban militants in recent weeks. The blast was so powerful that it was heard far and wide, pulling down at least 30 shops including two hotels in Yakkaghand. Meanwhile, the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan have claimed the responsibility of the attack. TTP spokesman Ikramullah Mohmand telephoned Geo News from unknown location and claimed the responsibility of the attack, saying the target were members of the Ambar Aman Committee who were present in Assistant Political Agent’s office at the time of the attack.
