Death toll of capsized migrant boat near Egypt rises to 42

The death toll of the capsized migrant boat near Egypt's northern coast of Kafr al-Sheikh rose to 42. The Egyptian Army gave the toll in a statement. A Health Ministry spokesman talking to mediapersons said, the total number of dead was still unknown. He said that more than 150 people had been rescued so far but that bodies were still being pulled from the water. He added, migrants were from several African countries.

According to official MENA news agency the migrant boat that drowned near the coast of Egypt's northern Beheira province, yesterday, was carrying about 600 passengers, of which about 150 have been rescued.
