In Assam, the death toll has gone up to 32 in the road accident of Barpeta. 10 injured persons are being shifted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital while 8 are undergoing treatment at Barpeta Medical College and Hospital.

Official sources said the incident occurred when a goods laden truck collided with two vehicles coming from opposite direction at Kismat Dwarika under Sorobhog police station early this morning.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi met the injured persons at Barpeta Medical College and assured all helps .The Barpeta S P said that 22 persons were died on the spot while rest were succumbs to their injuries later. The driver of the truck was in police custody.

The truck was going to West Bengal while the vehicles were coming from Dhubri to Rangia when the incident occurred. Most of the deceased were engaged as laborers in brick kiln industry.
