In Maharashtra, the death toll in Thane road accident has gone upto 14. The accident occured when a private bus collided with a a tanker at Medvan Khind on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway in Maharashtra at around 7 am this morning. At least 36 people were injured in the collision. Resident Deputy Collector Manoj Gohad said, rescue operations have been launched. He also said that the disaster management machinery has been pressed into service and medical teams have been dispatched to the accident site. Additional Collector Ashok Shingare said, the injured were rushed to various hospitals around Dahanu and those critically injured were shifted to hospitals in Mumbai.
