Death toll in Nepal landslides and flood touches 49

In Nepal, the death toll in the landslide and flood triggered by incessant rain in western districts in the last two days has now reached 49.<br/>Acham, Dadeldhura, Baitadi, Parbhat, Doti and Kailali are the worst affected districts where thousands of people have been rendered homeless. According to official sources, more than 30 villages have been inundated by the flood water of Karnali River in Kalilai district.<br/><br/>Nepal cabinet has sanctioned 15 crore rupees to provide immediate relief to the affected people and directed all ministries to mobilize their resources to provide relief to people ravaged by the natural calamity.<br/><br/>Police, army and rescue teams’ including a helicopter has been mobilized to rescue people affected by the flood in the western districts. Road communication in several places in affected districts has remained paralyzed due to landslides and flood.
