Death toll in Karachi violence reaches 19; shoot at sight orders issued

Wave of killings in the Pakistani city of Karachi that started Saturday evening ahead of by-polls claimed 19 more lives yesterday. At least 12 people were killed and several injured in Sher Shah bazaar by some unidentified gunmen. Witnesses said that six attackers came on bike and opened firing on people in Kabaari market. Two people were killed in Orangzeb Market near Jama Cloth Market. One person was killed in Ranchor Line. Another man was shot dead in Orangi Town. Firing in Garden and Malir areas claimed two more lives and hurt many. Business was shut and traffic was very thin in Malir 15 area. Meanwhile, Pakistan's Interior Minister says shoot at sight orders have been issued for any one seen doing any criminal activity in the city. He said action has been ordered against terrorists spoiling peace of Karachi.
