The recovery of a boy's body from a river in Morigaon district today raised the toll in the floods in Assam to 8. AIR correspondent adds that flood the situation improved a bit today. Incessant rainfall in catchment areas during the last week has led to a rise in the water level in the Brahmaputra and its tributries affecting 15 districts. 400 Families have been shifted to safer places in Lahari Ghat in Morigoan district. More than 90,000 people have been affected in the current wave of floods which have submerged over 4,500 hectares of cropland while stretches of roads have also been flooded in several districts. In Dhemaji district, 12 boats are being used to transport people to safer locations.
