In Arunachal Pradesh, with five more deaths reported on Monday from remote Anjaw district bordering China, the death toll in the current flood wave, has risen to nine. Four persons are missing in flood hit Lohit district. The water level in Siang and various other rivers in flood hit districts were showing receding trends but still flood water created havoc in many eastern districts of the state.In Anjaw district, all seven administrative centers were completely cut off. Local MLA of the district, Kalikho Pul said, though there was acute shortage of food items, ration sorties were not possible because of constant bad weather.Meanwhile, State Governor J.J. Singh reviewed the flood situation with State Planning, Finance & PWD Minister Chowna Mein at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. The Governor advised the Minister to take necessary precautions and to ensure the safety of every individual in the State. He also called for strengthening the emergency and disaster management mechanism.
