The death toll from the powerful earthquakes that hit the Noto Peninsula and other areas of Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan on 1st January has mounted to 78. More than 50 people have been reported missing and 330 injured. All the deaths have been reported in Ishikawa prefecture where the hardest hit Noto peninsula is located.&nbsp;<br />''<br />''More than 33,000 people have evacuated their homes and about 1,00,000 houses have no water supply. According to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency, still many residents are believed to be trapped under the rubble of collapsed buildings and homes. Meanwhile, the Japan Meteorological Agency have warned of heavy rain in Ishikawa, leading to concerns about landslides.<br />
