Death toll following Maoists attack rises to four in Chhattisgarh

In Chhattisgarh, the death toll following the Maoists attack has risen to four. The incident took place near Udanti under the Gariabandh police station area when ultras triggered a landmine blast at one of the vehicles of the convoy of state Congress leaders on Wednesday. The vehicle was completely smashed in the blast. The State Congress President Nand Kumar Patel who was leading the convoy however apprehended that the number of persons killed in the incident might have been around 7 to 8. The Maoists are said to have resorted to firing soon after the blast. AIR correspondent reports that Mr. Patel and other senior party leaders escaped unhurt.
