In the Philippines, the death toll due to a tropical storm that triggered floods and landslides has mounted to nearly 200. Scores of people are still missing and thousands are homeless. <br/><br/>The rescue teams are yet to reach some of the affected areas on Mindanao island. The towns of Tubod and Piagapo were badly hit, while the remote Dalama village was wiped out by flash floods.<br/><br/>President Rodrigo Duterte is due to visit the communities affected by the storm Tembin today. The Philippines is battered by about 20 typhoons a year, but the level of destruction brought by Tembin on Mindanao came as a surprise.
