In Andhra Pradesh, the number of persons died due to incessant rain rose to 16. Heavy rains lashed the coastal districts of the state for the past three days under the influence of a depression in the Bay of Bengal causing severe losses. According to State Relief Commission, 12 persons were killed in Guntur district, two in Nellore and one each in Prakasam and East Godavari districts. Four more persons are reported missing. Meanwhile, Chief Minister K Niran Kumar Reddy has undertaken an aerial survey to assess the loss and monitor relief works.
