Death toll due to encephilitis in UP touches 539

In Uttar Pradesh death toll has reached to 539 due to Japanese Encephalitis and Acute Encephalitis Syndrome in Gorakhpur and Basti divisions of eastern part of the state. Quoting official sources our Lucknow correspondent reports that 65 persons have lost their lives alone in this month with five more children succumbed to Japanese Encephalitis in Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Gorakhpur and Siddhartha Nagar districts during last 24 hours.<br/><br/>Additional Director Health Gorakhpur division Dr. L P Rawat has said that 24 more patients suffering from encephalitis were admitted to BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur. He said a total of 3,065 patients suffering from the Japanese Encephalitis and Acute Encephalitis Syndrome were admitted this year to BRD Medical College and other hospitals of the region.<br/>
